Approved Car Tinted JPJ Regulations Updated 2022

Get Darker Car Tinted JPJ Certifications & Procedures:

A procedure for installing a darker window tint film to a driver’s side window would be as follows:

  • Registered owners need to submit application to JPJ office if you want a darker car tinted windows for the driver’s side window due to safety or health risks requirement.
  • For your information, a security fee of RM50 will be charged for each application for a darker window tint certification for any approved safety reasons. 
  • Approved applications will be charged an RM5,000 fee for a 2 years. You must re-submit your application after the 2 years has passed.

 

The following is the simple tinted JPJ application procedure for the use of a darker car tinted windows for the driver’s side window:

  • Submit an application to the Secretary of the JPJ & Branch Enforcement Division
  • Furnish Form CG1 and attach it together with a copy of identity card (IC) and a copy of vehicle registration certificate card (Geran)
  • Submit separate application for each vehicle if you are applying for multiple cars. Sign each of the application form.
  • Attach your supporting documents for all applications made on safety or health factors for JPJ pfficer’s consideration.

Consequences of violating JPJ window tint film regulation:

  • You can be fined up to RM2,000 or imprisoned for 6 months if you violate the JPJ’s car tinted windows regulation.
  • A second and subsequent conviction can result in fines of up to RM4,000 or a punishment or up to 12 months in prison, or both.
