Maintaining your vehicle properly after car coating is important! Perhaps some people believe that since the coating has self-cleaning, there is no need to maintain your car. However, this is not the case. Continue reading to learn how to care for your car after it has been coated:
Maintain Car Coating Tips 1: Regularly wash your car
Although the coating provides the ability of self-cleaning, it keeps the car looking cleaner for a longer period of time. It does not eliminate the need for routine washing. A drop of rainfall consists of a mixture including dirt and minerals.
As water evaporates from the paint surface, minerals are left behind, result in noticeable spots. If you do not wash your car on a regular basis, minerals will erode through the surface and eventually the protective coating, causing permanent damage.
In general, you should wash your car once a week, or every two weeks at the very least. Particularly after a couple days of rain. Because your car is coated, washing it would be much easier and result in better benefits.

Maintain Car Coating Tips 2: Always Use Clean Microfibre Towel
When washing, drying, or applying any product to a coated vehicle, it is critical to avoid cross contamination with other cleaning materials. Thus, before using any microfiber towels, wash mitts, or buckets, make sure that they are completely clean and free of any other cleaners, degreasers, or debris that may have accumulated on them.
Most importantly, if you are taking your car to a car wash, make sure you choose a reputable centre that uses multiple towels for both washing and drying. Matter of fact, some Shield Smith customers chose to wash their cars themselves rather than having them wash by a car wash centre, saving money too!
Maintain Car Coating Tips 3: Always Use a pH Neutral Car Shampoo with No Wax Added
Car glass coating is similar to a paint protection film, will also help to protect against ultraviolet rays. This level of durability is not available with other spray coating products.
After car coating, the surface becomes extremely flat and hydrophobic after it has hardened. Due to this, fewer contaminants attach to the surface of the coating’s top layer, making it easier to remove debris such as brake dust from the car’s painted surface.
As a result, there’s no need to clean the surface with just an aggressive or harsh car shampoo or clay bar. Use a pH-neutral car shampoo with really no added wax whenever available. The wax can leave a residue on the coating, reducing its hydrophobic properties & allowing more debris to stick to it, making it dirtier.
