Updated 2022: Car Coating FAQ

Car Coating FAQ 1: How often should I wash my car?

Although car coating has the option to self-clean, it keeps the car looking cleaner and longer. But it does not remove the need of regular maintenance wash. A small amount of dirt and minerals can be found in a drop of rainwater. Minerals are left behind as water evaporates on the paint surface, leading in visible spots. If you don’t wash the car on a routine basis, the minerals will etch through the coated layer and eventually creates a permanent damage to your car paint.

As general, you should wash your car once a week, or at least every 2 weeks. Especially after a few days of rain. Washing your car would be significantly easier, thanks to the benefit of having it coated.

FAQ After car Coating

Car Coating FAQ 2: Using microfiber towel is a must?

It’s critical to avoid cross contamination of other cleaning supplies while washing, drying, or applying any product to a coated vehicle. As a result, make sure that every microfiber towel, wash mitt, or buckets you use are totally clean and free of other cleaners, degreasers, or debris before using them.

Car Coating FAQ 3: Some people said car shampoo will damage the coated layer, is it true?

A glass coating, like a paint protection film (PPF), will also block UV rays. This strength is not available over all spray coating products. When coating hardens, it creates a very flat or hydrophobic surface. As a result, fewer contaminants attach to the top layer of the coating, making debris like brake dust on the car paint surface easier to remove.

As a result, there’s no need to clean the surface with just an aggressive or harsh car shampoo or clay bar. Simply use a pH-neutral car shampoo with really no added wax whenever available. The wax can leave a residue on the coating, reducing its hydrophobic properties & allowing more debris to stick to it, making it dirtier.
